THREE males will have to report back to Ipswich police station in relation to a serious assault of a man.

THREE males will have to report back to Ipswich police station in relation to a serious assault of a man.

The trio, aged 16, 18 and 22, were arrested following the attack on the 47-year-old man in Ipswich on March 8.

He was found unconscious in the Cattlemarket car park in Portman Road by a member of the public at around 4am.

The men will have to return to Ipswich Police Station at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm on April 7, pending further enquiries.

Police are still keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of Riley's snooker club in Princes Street, the alleyway leading from the Drum and Monkey to the Cattlemarket car park, or the Cattlemarket car park between 2.45am and 3.15am on March 8.

The victim was taken to Ipswich Hospital with a head injury and later transferred to Addenbrookes where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Police are still also keen to locate a rucksack, which the victim was carrying prior to his assault. It is described as black with a red and white stripped motif.
