A GROUP which organises social days out and support for disabled children and young people across Suffolk is set to benefit from a cash boost.
Suffolk County Council has increased its grant by £80,000 to Out & About, a charity which enables disabled youngsters to take part in a range of sport and leisure activities by offering practical and financial assistance.
Suffolk County Council's annual grant to Out & About is £112,000. The service provides breaks for parents and carers, and aims to increase the independence and self-esteem of the children.
David Rowe, of Suffolk County Council's executive committee, said:
"Having fun, playing games, and spending time with friends is vital for us all, but disabled children may need extra support in order to take part in these activities."
