PLANS to create a world class centre for young people in Stowmarket are moving forward this week.

The 4.75m building called The Mix will be built opposite the Regal Cinema. It will be an exciting modern facility providing young people with a safe space to explore their talents, socialise with friends and access independent advice and guidance from various specialists.

Suffolk County Council is holding a series of public drop-in sessions at the offices of Stowmarket Town Council on Thursday December from 3pm to 8pm and on Saturday December from 10am to 3pm. Everyone is invited to come along, view the plans and talk to members of the project team. Alternatively it is also possible to view the plans and make comments via www.suffolk.gov.uk/themix

Graham Newman, portfolio polder for children, schools, and young people's services, said: “This new development in Stowmarket represents a superb and almost unique investment in young people's services. It's really fantastic to see how the different statutory agencies are coming together and providing a range of services in a purpose-built environment. And best of all, young people are having a big say in what's happening.”
