SEPTEMBER and October are going to be exciting months for all those involved in Youth and Children's work in Suffolk.
The Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich has organised ten Roadshows across the county to share experience and good practice in youth and children's work.
The Church has contact with the largest number of young people of any organisation in the county and the Roadshows are aimed at people already working with or interested in working with young people.
"It's the first time we have run workshops like this," says Rev Peter Clement, the Diocesan Youth Advisor.
"They give us a chance to share some of the very exciting things happening in Suffolk's churches and we hope that they will encourage more work with children and young people.
"The Roadshows are being supported by contributions from the Drugs Advisory Service, Connexions Service and Community Education.
"We are preparing for 100 people to come to the first Roadshow in Ipswich on September 8 but it could easily be more," Mr Clement said, adding: "the idea seems to have caught people's imagination and we're thrilled by the response."
The Youth & Children's Roadshows will take place at the following Ipswich area venues;
September 8 Ipswich: St Peter's church, Stoke Park, Ipswich.
September 15 Stowmarket: St Peter's church hall, Stowmarket.
October 6 Felixstowe: Cavendish Community Church, Felixstowe.
