FIREFIGHTERS were able to stop a chimney blaze before it spread to a thatched roof.
It took two crews from Colchester around half-an-hour to bring the flames under control at The Guildhall, in Higham Road, Higham.
The fire broke out shortly after 5.30pm today but was contained to the chimney of the thatched building.
