ROLL up, roll up, the circus is in town.

Youngsters at Claydon High School have been brushing up on their Big Top skills by learning all things circus from plate spinning to acrobatics.

And some lucky GCSE students will be putting their new-found ability to the test when they take part in the performances.

Michelle Bibby from Circus Ricardo has been putting the students through their paces during workshops in the school this week.

And she said that it has been a fun learning experience for them all.

"The show opened last night with some of the drama and music students taking part and showing off their clowning abilities.

"There is more of the same tonight and over the weekend when most of the GCSE pupils taking part again," she added.

All seats are £5 each and the money is going towards Claydon High's media department.

Tickets are available on the door, or by booking through the school on 01449 760729. Credit card bookings can be made at the Ipswich Corn Exchange box office on 01473 433100.

Performances in the Big Top in the school grounds are tonight at 5pm and 7.30pm; tomorrow at 11am and 2pm and a matinee show only on Sunday at 2pm.
