POLICE were continuing to investigate today after a man was taken to hospital with head injuries following a knife attack in Ipswich.

The incident happened at shortly before 1pm on Friday at a hair salon in Norwich Road, Ipswich.
Emergency services were called to the scene following reports that a man had been stabbed in the head two or three times.
A police spokeswoman said officers arrived to find a 24-year-old man had sustained “minor lacerations” to his head.
The man was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment.
His injuries were not life-threatening.

The incident comes in a week when knife crime is at the top of the national agenda following a series of high-profile stabbings and an apparent increase in the weapon's use.
Ipswich's MP Chris Mole said courts in the town needed to get tough with knife criminals in a bid to crack down on use of the deadly weapon
Mr Mole said a “strong message” needed to be sent to those carrying knives to prevent an escalation in their use and reckoned a mandatory jail sentence could be the answer.
Police are keen to speak to witnesses to the Norwich Road incident.
The attacker has been described as an Asian man, around 5ft 9ins, aged between 26 and 30, wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans.
Police are currently scouring CCTV footage for clues.
