A cormorant was spotted diving in to the water in the Round Pond at Christchurch Park in Ipswich today.
An Ipswich Borough Council spokesman said the “natural predator” – an aquatic bird – has regularly been seen in the area of the Wilderness Pond but not at the Round Pond.
He also said there were no carp fishes for the cormorant to target in the Round Pond.
He added: “It is one of many species which visit the park. We have had no complaints or reports but we will monitor the situation tomorrow.”
