GREEN party candidates could be the jokers in the pack at this year's council elections in Ipswich - they are standing in several wards which were already expected to be tight contest.

And they are targeting many of the same wards as the Liberal Democrats - which could split their vote on May 4.

But the independents, who said they were planning to put up candidates in wards currently heard by Conservatives, are not on the ballot paper.
