TWO people have died as a result of a bungalow fire in Essex.
Firefighters were called to Southernhay in Eastwood, Southend-on-sea, at about 9.15am yesterday.
The fire was extinguished in 15 minutes, but a man, aged 77, and a woman, aged 79, were pronounced dead.
Divisional officer Bob Wahl said: "Essex firefighters send their condolences to the family and friends of the couple.
"Fire officers have carried out an investigation into the cause of the fire today and the fire is believed to have started accidentally in the bungalow."
