A YOUNG couple told of their disappointment after learning their dream holiday now hangs in the balance following the announcement that XL Leisure Group has gone into administration.

Stephen and Tina Willingham, of Whitland Close, Ipswich, were due to fly out to Lanzarote for a week on October 9.

The couple, who both have learning difficulties, have been married for four years and have never been abroad together before.

They won the holiday after entering a competition in Our Say! - a Woodbridge based magazine for individuals with learning difficulties.

Unfortunately travel was provided by XL and it means their dream holiday could be in jeopardy unless another travel company can step in or someone can provide them with new flights.

Mrs Willingham, 27, said: “We've been really looking forward to it. We've never been abroad together before and this is the first time we would be going by ourselves. We were both really excited.”

Mr Willingham, 28, continued: “Hopefully something will happen and we will still be able to go. It'll be nice to get some sunshine and get away from the rain - we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed.”

Janet Snell, who works for Our Say!, said: “At the moment the holiday is hanging in the balance but hopefully a local company or someone will be able to come forward and help them out because they really do deserve it.”

Anyone who thinks they might be able to help can contact Mrs Snell on 01394 387330.
