A MOTORIST who died following a crash at Wherstead has today been named as a 41-year-old man from Alderton.

Daniel Morgan, of Hollesley Road, died earlier today after suffering multiple injuries in the car crash, which happened at about 9pm on Tuesday on the A137 at Wherstead.

Suffolk police released details of Mr Morgan's identity for the first time this evening. Their investigation into what caused his Audi car to lose control and flip over is continuing. The car landed in a ditch on its roof.

Mr Morgan had been fighting for his life in Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge since the crash but lost his battle for survival in the early hours of today.

Accident cause investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash. They launched their investigation soon after the accident and the extent of Mr Morgan's injuries were known.

Initially the road was at the A14 roundabout near the Suffolk Ski Centre as emergency workers attended to Mr Morgan. It then remained closed for some time while accident investigators examined the scene.
