POLICE are appealing for information after a cyclist claimed he was abducted in Newmarket and driven to a layby in Cambridgeshire.
The victim, who is in his 20s, was cycling along the Yellow Brick Road near Exeter Road between 9pm and 10pm last night when, he claims, a man and a woman stopped him.
The pair said they were police officers and restrained him, taking him to a new black Mercedes with tinted windows parked nearby. Two other males were in the back of the car, he was assaulted and threatened and suffered facial injuries.
He claims to have been driven for around 15 minutes before he was let out of the car in a layby in Chippenham and ran to a house where police were called.
The man is described as white, in his 20s, 5ft 6in tall, of small build and was wearing a black beanie hat, gloves and a blue or navy fleece. The woman is described as white, in her 20s, slightly taller than the male, of slim build with dark hair in a pony tail and was wearing a black fleece.
