A TERMINALLY ill Suffolk man was kicked to death in an alleyway by a 22-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, it has been alleged.
Father-of-three John Vry, 55, of London Road South, Lowestoft was found with serious injuries in an alleyway off the same road on December 3 last year and died in hospital the following day, a court has heard.
Karim Khalil QC prosecuting said Mr Vry was suffering from cancer and had been given a life expectancy of three to six months in the summer of last year.
“By December last year he was plainly not a strong man,” said Mr Khalil.
He alleged that Mr Vry, who was married with three children, was “literally kicked to death” by James Killingback, now 23, of Denmark Road, Lowestoft and a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Killingback and the 17-year-old boy have denied murdering Mr Vry on December 4 last year.
