POLICE are warning elderly residents to be on their guard after a spate of distraction burglaries across Suffolk.
People claiming to be from utility companies called at the homes of residents in Ipswich, Felixstowe, Beccles and Sudbury last week.
They gained access to the properties but it is not known if anything was stolen.
A spokesman for the force said people should remember to ask all callers at their home for identification.
