Catherine Mullany, formerly Bowen, was shot in the head during a robbery at her hotel on the island of Antigua yesterday.
Her husband Benjamin was left with critical injuries and is fighting for his life in hospital.
The couple, who live in Wales, were married on July 12 and arrived in the Caribbean on July 14. They were due to return home today.
