Over the past few weeks school children all over Ipswich and Felixstowe have been rehearsing ready for the Nativity performances.

While some have stuck with the story of Jesus’ birth in a stable in Bethlehem, other schools have opted for a more modern take on the traditional Christmas production and turned it into a musical extravaganza.

Children have dressed up as Mary and Joseph, the inn keeper and his wife and little lambs watched over by shepherds. Some have become glittering stars, leading the way to Bethlehem while others have donned white dresses and wings to take on the role of the head angel.

We have collected photos from performances at 27 schools and will be publishing them in a special souvenir picture pullout on Friday.

The pages will be packed with delightful photographs of youngsters celebrating the festive story – and no matter what part your child played you won’t want to miss your copy.
