PASSENGERS were evacuated from a double decker bus after it caught light on the A12 in the early hours of today.The blaze took hold in the vehicle on the southbound carriageway between Stratford St Mary and Colchester at shortly after 5am.

The blaze took hold in the vehicle on the southbound carriageway between Stratford St Mary and Colchester at shortly after 5am.
A spokesman for Essex Fire and Rescue said: “When crews arrived the bus was 100 per cent well alight.
“Using two hose reel jets and four sets of breathing apparatus crews had extinguished the fire by 5.50am.”
