THESE dramatic pictures of a car bursting into flames were captured by Evening Star reader Greg Nunn.

The vehicle burst into flames in Henley Road, Ipswich near to where 18-year-old Mr Nunn lives.

"I was sitting in my bedroom doing revision for my A levels," said the Northgate High school pupil. "I had the window open and saw a chap in a red van shouting and directing traffic away from the fire. It was pretty dramatic."

Mr Nunn grabbed his mum's digital camera and started taking pictures of the blaze.

The Peugeot 205 is believed to have caught fire as it was being driven along in rush hour traffic at around 6.15pm yesterday.

Fire crews from Colchester Road attended the blaze and it took firefighters 11 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The car caused a slight obstruction to traffic for a short period of time while firefighters made the car safe.

No one was hurt during the incident.
