An Ipswich man has been charged with driving without due care and attention and possession of amphetamines following a crash on the A14 at Nacton on Tuesday.

Didzis Skudrevics, 30, of Moffat Avenue, was arrested following a collision on the A14 eastbound between junctions 57 and 58 just after 4.20pm on Tuesday, February 20. The vehicle he was driving, a BMW, ended up on its roof causing huge tailbacks in the area that stretched back as far as the Orwell bridge.

An ambulance spokesman added: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the A14 near Nacton yesterday, February 20, at 4.29pm.Two ambulances and an ambulance officer were sent to the scene.”

Police have charged Skudrevics with driving without due care and attention and possession of a class B drug. He has been bailed to appear before Ipswich Magistrates on March 12.
