A pick-up truck driver who was involved in a collision on the A12 after becoming tired while he was driving will be sentenced next month.
Gokhan Mersin, 21, of Valence Road, Erith, had denied dangerous driving and his trial was due to get underway at Ipswich Crown Court earlier today.
However, he changed his plea to guilty to driving a pick-up truck dangerously on the A12 in the vicinity of Capel St Mary on September 5, 2015 before the trial started. He also admitted failing to stop after an accident.
The case was adjourned until next month for a pre-sentence report.
Judge Martyn Levett said Mersin should have stopped driving when he became tired.
The court heard that the pick up truck had swerved into a car resulting in a 64-year-old woman suffering injuries, including a four-inch gash to the back of her head, whiplash and bruising to her spine.
