AN Ipswich drug dealer has been jailed for almost three years. Gary Gibbons, 30, pleaded guilty at Ipswich Crown Court to possessing 12.8 grams of heroin and 9.3 grams of cocaine with intent to supply.
Gibbons told police he planned to sell the drugs worth around £1,000 to feed his own heroin habit. The court heard that Gibbons lived at Oxford Road with his partner and their nine children.
Richard Christie mitigating said his client worked for a landscaping company earning about £30 a day but needed extra cash because of his large family and his addiction.
Gibbons was sentenced to 33 months in prison and ordered to pay £200 towards court costs. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
