East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) thank support from generous communities and corporate organisations across Suffolk.
Suffolk Lawn Tennis Association held a ladies’ double tournament at Ipswich Sports Club which raised £800. The event saw 18 pairs competing for prizes supplied by Coes of Ipswich, with a duo from Frinton Tennis Club coming out victorious.
The youth group at St Bartholomew’s Church in Ipswich raised £416.91 from traditional fundraising events, including bake sales.
The Stowmarket Strummers raised £809 after a year of collections. The ukulele band has decided to continue fundraising for the charity over the next 12 months.
Fosters Financial in Ipswich has made £455 for EACH by donating £5 for every mortgage arranged and completed over a six-month period.
Helen Chapman, EACH Suffolk Fundraising Manager, said: “It’s so pleasing that community and corporate organisations across the county recognise what a vital service EACH offers to children and young people with life-threatening conditions and their families.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to all those who have taken the time to plan and run events, collections and fundraising initiatives.
“As we rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income and need to raise almost £6 million a year - which equates to £16,000 a day - the support we’ve received and continue to receive from communities and businesses alike is greatly appreciated.”
