The count-up has taken place and it is time to reveal which Suffolk primary school has won the £1,000 voucher to spend on Lego® educational toys.

In January, this newspaper launched a new campaign to give primary schools the chance to win vouchers to spend on Lego educational toys.

An impressive 392,890 tokens have been collected in that time.

Tokens could be collected daily through the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star, and weekly in the Beccles & Bungay Journal and Lowestoft Journal.

While two schools will walk away with £1,000 and £500 vouchers respectively, participating schools that collected over 1,000 tokens will receive a £50 prize.

Altogether 161 primary schools across Suffolk took part in the competition.

The winning schools - decided by the number of tokens collected as a ratio to the number of pupils - will receive £1,000 of toys.

In first place and the winner of the £1,000 prize is Orford Primary School, which collected 5,329 tokens - the equivalent of 104.49 per pupil

Winning the £500 prize after collecting 5,424 tokens is Bramfield Church of England Primary School. The total number of tokens equated to 60.27 per pupil.

For many years, we have supported schools by running initiatives to encourage learning - giving away more than £100,000.

Our latest education campaign, in association with Richardson's Hensby Beach Holiday Park, is giving away vouchers to spend on Lego® Education with Creative Hut.

The aim is to get children and teachers to re-think STEM learning and encourage children to engage with learning in the classroom with Lego® Learning System.

A huge well done to all schools that took part and to families, friends and supporters for supporting the initiative.
