MARGARET Dent is enjoying a life of leisure today after more than 23 years as receptionist at the Royal Hospital School, Holbrook.
Over the past four decades Mrs Dent, who lives in Holbrook, has befriended the many boarding house's 'mail boys and girls', who are responsible for forwarding and receiving the boarding houses post, twice a day.
Mrs Dent, who began working at the school in 1979, said: "I have been fortunate during my time at RHS as the pupils view me, not just as a member of the teaching staff, but as an independent adult. This allowed the children to discuss many homely issues, such as their pets, family holidays and even occasionally, the pressures of being away from home. I would describe my relationship with them as like an additional auntie."
