FOUR immigration detainees are currently on the run from police after breaking out of a detention centre in a “planned escape”.

Seven men went missing from the Campsfield detention centre in Oxfordshire early this morning, but three were later recaptured.

Police are now hunting the countryside for the remaining four.

One of the men is Libyan, two are Palestinian and one is from Afghanistan.

One has served time in prison for minor assault and theft but the other three were being held only as illegal immigrants.

Inspector Graham Sutherland, of Thames Valley Police, said the escape was not a simple walk-out, but a “planned escape”.
