POLICE in Essex have appealed to people living in the county to help them find a missing Ipswich man.

Concern is growing for the welfare of Brian Jordan, 28 who has been missing for more than a week.

Mr Jordan, formerly of Pauline Street, Ipswich, was reported missing by his sister on Sunday, January 13, after she last spoke to him on Tuesday, January 8.

He has gone missing twice before and his mother made the trip from Ireland to Ipswich to appeal for him to return home.

Christina Jordan said: “Brian, it was great to see you at home in Ireland over Christmas.

“However we were all aware that you weren't happy and that you are going through a difficult time.

“We know too that you are frightened of what the future holds. We all want to ensure that you are safe and well and are pleading with you to make contact with Ipswich police or us.

“I am here in Ipswich. I travelled over on Saturday to try and find you, as I am so worried about you.

“Please, for me and the sake of your children, get in touch.”

Mr Jordan is described as white, 5ft 10in, of stocky build with short dark brown hair.

He speaks with an Irish accent, smokes, has a gothic tattoo symbol on one forearm and when he was last seen was wearing a green jacket and jeans.

He does not drive or own a mobile phone and it is not thought he has access to money.

Anyone who has information about Brian Jordan's whereabouts, or Mr Jordan himself, is asked to contact Ipswich police on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
