AN Ipswich-based industrial design company has won business worth one million euros.

The company, Solutions E2 Ltd, which specialises in transportation interiors, was awarded the contract to supply floor coverings all 466 Eurostar train carriages, after a lengthy tender process conducted in both French and English.

At a crucial stage of negotiations the company required an interpreter for a vital business meeting in Paris. With less than 24 hours notice, Business Link for Suffolk's International Trade Team managed to find a contact local to Paris to accompany the founder of the company, Chris Debrick.

Mr Debrick, said: "As we are currently refurbishing the interior of the Heathrow Express trains fleet for Siemens Transportation Systems, we were quietly confident about our chances for the Eurostar business.

"However, without the help of the International Trade Team at Suffolk Business Link, our bid for the Eurostar contract could have been jeopardised.

"The support we have received has been first class and we are currently working on other export ideas as far afield as Australia."
