Just £700 needs to be raised to meet the target for a magnificent seventh Ipswich Star guide dog.
Generous readers, groups and businesses have so far raised £4,300 towards the £5,000 total needed to complete the latest appeal to breed and carry out the initial training of a puppy.
The Guide Dogs charity says a trained pup plays a vital role in being the eyes of a blind or partially-sighted person, their constant companion and helping them enjoy greater freedom.
Puppy walker Penny Parker said The Star’s latest pup, eight-month-old Diamond was doing really well.
Her latest check showed she was in excellent health with good marks in most areas of her development and progress being made in others.
