MORE than 80 Ipswich schoolchildren helped turn Ipswich Cornhill into a magical, musical, multi-coloured wonderland as part of the town's Ip-Art celebrations.
ColourDome, a large walk-in labyrinth of colour and light, dominated the town centre square outside the Town Hall yesterday.
The interactive artistic experience encouraged passers-by to enter into a new world where strong colours radiated through corridors and chambers and resulted in a bizarre rainbow-coloured “happening”.
The visual experience was enhanced by the presence of musicians and theatre performers as well as the children's own contributions.
The children from St Matthews and Handford Hall primary schools created a procession of Samba percussion and colour sculptures moving through the streets, ending at the ColourDome.
See tomorrow's Evening Star for a ColourDome picture special.
