Fire crews have battled a blaze in two acres of grassland off Ravenswood Avenue in Ipswich.
According to a spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, four fire crews were alerted to the fire and three crews - from Ipswich East, Ipswich Princes Street and Felixstowe - attended the scene.
Emergency services were called to the fire, close to Nacton Road, at around 5.30pm today, Wednesday, July 18.
Crews called a stop on the incident at around 6.30pm.
The fire spokesman added: “This was a fire in the open involving about two acres of open space and trees.”
Witness Daniel Mitrovic has posted a dramatic video on Twitter of flames and thick black smoke pluming from the fire, close to a bus stop.
He said: I saw smoke coming into my room and thought it was maybe coming from our kitchen.
“Then I saw more smoke, it was getting bigger and bigger. “The flames were really high, the smoke and ash was going everywhere.
“I saw three fire engines going past. “With the grass being so dry I was worried about the fire going into my garden.”
