Firefighters in Ipswich were called to tackle a fire that had broken out across three garages in Richmond Road this afternoon.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue was alerted at 4.40pm to Richmond Road and Norwich Road where a garage fire had spread to three garages.

Two crews from Princes Street, two crews from Woodbridge and a fire engine from Ipswich east attended, with additional measures put in place due to asbestos sheets being involved in the fire.

The crews put out the flames shortly before 5.30pm.
