MORE than 75 firefighters tackled a blaze at an industrial mill in Essex.
Flames tore through the Stambridge Mills building in Rochford shortly before 10pm yesterday.
The five-storey, 50m by 50m structure was completely engulfed in fire and it took 11 crews three-and-a-half hours to extinguish the flames.
No one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage and an investigation will be carried out in due course.
Senior divisional officer Paul Hill said: “Firefighters worked extremely well to tackle this extensive fire.
“At the height of the fire we had 75 firefighters extinguishing the blaze.”
