DETECTIVES were today trying to unravel the background to a series of incidents which left four people injured – two of them seriously.The bizarre events which greeted police on their arrival at a house in Portman's Walk, Ipswich, led them to call for three ambulances.

The bizarre events which greeted police on their arrival at a house in Portman's Walk, Ipswich, led them to call for three ambulances.

The violent disturbance, which happened in an isolated area, resulted in four people needing hospital treatment. It is understood that a hammer was used in the attack.

It is believed the drama unfolded shortly before 5am after an aggravated burglary at a house in the street.
