SCHOOL lunches may seem like a distant memory for most parents - but not the 63 dads visiting their children as part of a Father's Day celebration.
The dads were invited to Clifford Road Primary School in Ipswich as part of a Father's Day lunch and assembly on Friday.
The school ran a successful Mother's Day lunch and assembly earlier this year and headmaster Steve Wood, thought that a similar event for the dads would encourage them to become more involved with the school as well.
He said: “It was brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Dads don't usually get a lot of time to come into school but it was an absolute success - we couldn't have imagined so many would turn up.”
The children had prepared a special assembly for the fathers, which included everyone singing a song together, a Father's Day alphabet and the presentation of special 'Dad coupons'.
Mr Wood added: “The dads were fantastic, playing with the kids and really getting involved - the children loved having them here.”
