SHIVER me timbers!
A marina in Ipswich was besieged by pirates taking part in a swashbuckling celebration of National Bookstart Day.
Toddlers and adults from Quayside Children's Centre and Stoke Library boarded Il Punto restaurant in Neptune Marina in fancy dress for the Pirate Rhyme Time event on Friday.
Graham Newman, Suffolk County Councillor responsible for adults and community services, said: “These events are always and absolute treasure - an enjoyable morning out for parents and carers, as well as great fun for children.”
Libraries across Suffolk also held their own pirate-themed Bookstart sessions last week for babies and pre-school children.
Bookstart is a national programme that encourages parents to share and enjoy books with their children. For more information, visit www.bookstart.co.uk.
