These pictures taken at The Garland Pub from 1974 will evoke fond memories for many - of friends and fashions, hairstyles and high jinks.
Situated on Humber Doucy Lane, the pub was a popular choice for many 40 years ago.
Dating back to the 1800s, it was originally located just outside Rushmere village and was previously called The Greyhound before it changed its name to The Garland by 1927.
The Garland sadly now belongs on the list of Ipswich’s lost pubs, after the last pint was poured on the closing night in January 2014 and the building demolished two years later and the site developed for housing.
Were you a regular punter at the pub in the 1970s? Can you spot yourself, or someone you know, in these pictures from our archives?
