FUNDRAISING by the Felixstowe and Walton Co-operative Women's Guild went extremely well last year with the group raising £800 for the children's hospice.

This year's chosen charity is the Felixstowe branch of the MS Society and the group is already underway having raised £68 at a recent bring and buy sale.

Recently 37 members of the group got together for their Christmas meal at the Alex restaurant in town.

Madge Shimmons, secretary, said: "The meal was excellent had everyone had a fabulous time. We always have a lot of fun throughout the year and we always have something interesting going on, that's why the group is so strong."

The group, established 92 year ago, currently has more than 50 members and meets every alternate Thursday at Seaton Road Methodist Church at 7.30pm. Their next meeting is on February 28.
