A teenage boy who was detained by police yesterday after an altercation involving a screwdriver in a school field has been released on bail.
Officers were called to Hadleigh High School to reports of staff restraining a pupil following an incident involving two students at around 1.15pm.
The weapon was taken away from one of the students, who was taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning in connection with assault and threatening behaviour offences.
A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said the boy had been bailed to return on May 5 pending further enquiries.
