FIREMEN and police were called to attend to an incident with a difference in Ipswich – a birthday party for a hotel mascot.
The Novotel on Greyfriars Road was the scene as 75 children celebrated the tenth anniversary of Dolfi, the hotel mascot.
The children who were invited were all related to the employees of the hotel, the fire service, and Suffolk police.
Kids had the chance to check out a real fire engine when White Watch arrived and firemen demonstrated how they would put out a fire.
All the children were given a raffle ticket with the winner receiving a UK weekend break for a family. Nine-year-old Emma Thorpe from Kesgrave won the prize.
Organiser Alice Bibby said that all the children thoroughly enjoyed the day and there are plans to hold a similar event in forthcoming years.
The Novotel also made a donation to the Fire Service Benevolent Fund.
