A MAN who was found critically injured in a Colchester street has lost his fight for life in hospital, police said today. The 35-year-old man died in Colchester General Hospital on Saturday night after being found unconscious in Crouch Street at about 9am that morning.

The 35-year-old man died in Colchester General Hospital on Saturday night after being found unconscious in Crouch Street at about 9am that morning. He had suffered severe head injuries.
The local man's death is being treated as “unexplained” but officers are working on the theory that he fell from the window of a flat above the Continental Supermarket.
