Helicopter launched after fishing theft

A POLICE helicopter searched for two thieves who stole £1,500 worth of equipment from a man who was fishing at Barham.The 28-year-old man was fishing at the Barham Pitts at 7.

A POLICE helicopter searched for two thieves who stole £1,500 worth of equipment from a man who was fishing at Barham.

The 28-year-old man was fishing at the Barham Pitts at 7.30pm yesterday when a man approached him.

The two had a conversation before a third man appeared and stole his fishing equipment.

In total five fishing rods and reels, an alarm indicator, buzz bar and marker were taken totalling £1,500 in value.

One man was described as having a dark coat and baseball cap and both men were thought to be English.

Police sent a helicopter out to search for the men but could not find them and are now appealing for anyone who saw anything to come forward.
