POLICE are appealing for the public’s help in tracing a Hollesley Bay inmate who has failed to return from a community work placement.
Edward MacDonald, 46, who is serving a life sentence after being jailed for arson, was given a temporary release licence to attend premises at Ransomes Europark in Ipswich yesterday, but he failed to return to the prison by the 4.45pm licence end time.
MacDonald is white, around 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build, with cropped grey hair and a Scottish accent. He has a scar on his right arm.
He has family in Great Yarmouth and other contacts in Leiston and East Sussex. It is possible he may be in any of these areas or still in the Ipswich area.
If anyone sees MacDonald they should call Suffolk police on 101 straight away with details and not approach him.
