AS government leaders from across the globe meet in London, there was some good news on the economy today as a new survey showed house prices picked up slightly in March.
According to the survey from the Nationwide Building Society, prices increased by 0.9 per cent during March - the first rise for 16 months.
The rise meant that the average rate of price falls eased from 17.6pc to 15.7pc.
A spokesman for the Nationwide said it was too early to say whether the trough in the market had been reached.
