POLICE have released an image of a man they believe punched and tried to rob a woman in Colchester.
POLICE have released an image of a man they believe punched and robbed of a woman in Colchester.
The 21-year-old woman was walking in Layer Road at 11am on Tuesday, September 29, when she was approached from behind by a man who attempted to pull her handbag from her left shoulder.
Following a struggle the man punched the woman in the face three times causing swelling to her right cheek bone. He then ran off after failing to steal the bag.
He is described as white, between 25 and 30 years-old, of average build, 5ft 11ins to 6ft 2ins tall, with short blond hair. He was clean shaven and wearing a plain white T-shirt and black trousers.
Officers are appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the efit to contact them at Colchester police station on 0300 333 4444.
