Kyle Knights, a 16-year-old from the Pinewood area of Ipswich, was injured when his moped and that of another teenager were in collision with a Ford Mondeo in Anglesea Road, Ipswich, at around 6pm last Tuesday.
After being taken to Ipswich Hospital, he was moved to Addenbrooke's Hospital where his condition was described as critical throughout the week.
Another teenager involved in the crash was discharged from Ipswich hospital earlier in the week.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene of the crash on suspicion of dangerous driving and bailed to return to Ipswich police station on October 2.
