AN inquest has today been opened into the death of a canoeist in Suffolk.
Alex Ball, 39, of Hawkes Way, Clacton on Sea, Essex, was canoeing with a friend at Stoke By Clare when his friend lost sight of him at about 11am on December 31.
Mr Ball's body was found a short distance downstream soon after.
The inquest was opened and adjourned at Shire Hall, Bury St Edmunds this afternoon.
