IPSWICH: These two little cherubs are officially top of the tots.

After votes poured in, a pair of tremendous toddlers have been crowned this year’s Evening Star Bonny Babies.

Liam Daniel-Jay Baldry, 15 months, of Jovian Way, Ipswich, and Mia Fleming, 12 months, of Bilberry Road, Ravenswood, won through from the sackful of entries that flooded into the Evening Star offices.

The lovable youngsters have won themselves not only the title of cutest boy and girl in town, but also a framed canvas texture portrait worth 170.

Competition was hot this year, with hundreds of readers casting their votes in the past few weeks. We printed a special pull-out featuring all the entrants photographed at Tower Ramparts shopping centre last month.

Like all the babies in the competition, Liam and Mia sat for a shoot with a professional photographer at Premier Promotions.

Liam’s mum Kim Marsh decided to enter Liam while they were out shopping.

She said: “I was shocked that the photographer was able to catch Liam giggling. Whenever I try to take his photograph he just looks away.”

Mia’s mum Krystle was also impressed by her beaming smile. She said: “She normally looks so serious in photos and it can be really hard to get her to smile – but she’s a lovely bubbly little girl and we can’t wait to get the picture.”

Archant Suffolk’s Debbie Noye said: “We had more than 170 little cuties to choose from this year and people were able to vote for their favourites by cutting out a coupon in the paper or by text. Both winners will be getting a framed canvas picture in the new year.”
