Police are appealing for witnesses after four cars in east Ipswich were targeted by thieves.
The first incident saw a Honda car, which was parked on a driveway in Whitethorn Road, was entered between 7pm on Friday, October 10 and 9.10am the following day.
A child’s rucksack was taken but was later found with its contents discarded in a bush nearby.
At 2.30pm on Saturday, a man living in Bucklesham Road stopped a man who was trying to get into his car, which was also parked on a drive. The offender ran away and nothing was stolen.
A sat nav was also stolen from the glove compartment of a Saab car parked in Blackthorn Close between 10pm on Friday and 9.30am the following day.
Police are linking these three incidents because of the locations and times they took place.

There was also a fourth car targeted with a theft taking place between 6pm on October 8 and 7.15am the following day in Rushmere St Andrew.
A Fiat Punto parked at the end of the close in Chatsworth Drive was broken into and a Tom Tom sat nav stolen.
