CONCERNS were raised today after tickets for Mumford and Sons’ Ipswich concert were offered up on some internet sites, a day before they officially went on sale.

Fans will finally be able to get their hands on tickets for the November show at the Regent Theatre when they go on general release today.

But yesterday, it was discovered tickets for the London-based band’s show, which will cost 23.50, were already being flogged on the internet for up to 100 – more than four times the price fans are being asked for.

One Star reader said: “It seems a shame that some individuals are profiteering – and keeping real fans away from seeing what is a superb band.”

It is not known whether the tickets on the internet are official, but entertainment bosses in Ipswich have raised concerns.

David Mansfield, general manager of the Regent, said there have been occasions in the past when music fans have been left disappointed after unknowingly buying fake tickets.

A JLS concert in 2010 saw scores of fans discovering they had been ripped off by fake ticket sellers.

He encouraged people to always buy tickets from official channels to avoid being conned.

Mr Mansfield added: “We would always encourage people to go to official ticket outlets.

“From any artist’s point of view, they want their genuine fans there to come and see them.”

There will be 300 tickets for the show available at the Regent today while the rest of the tickets will be available from the show’s promoter, International Talent.

The gig, which is expected to be a sell-out, will see more than 1,500 people attend.

A spokeswoman for International Talent revealed reselling tickets online is not against the law.

She added: “It’s legal, anyone can buy two tickets and re-sell them.

“We try everything in our power (to stop it) but unfortunately we can’t.”

Tickets for the concert will be available from the Ipswich Regent today from 9am.

To book tickets, call the box office on 01473 433100.
